Study on Microstructure Evolution of Oolitic Hematite during Microwave Fluidization Roasting

نویسندگان

چکیده

To explore the microstructure evolution of oolitic hematite during microwave fluidization roasting, COMSOL multiphysics and scanning electron microscopy (SEM)–energy-dispersive spectrometry (EDS) were used to simulate evolution. The simulation results indicated that with extension heating time increase power, surface temperature in particle model progressively increased, rate was fastest, followed by quartz apatite; simultaneously, stress difference between three mineral interfaces increased. SEM–EDS illustrated there microcracks at interface iron minerals gangue minerals, such as apatite, more obvious minerals. With treatment time, gradually extended expanded inward along outer edge formed core structure. Appropriately increasing roasting temperature, prolonging CO concentration made loose rough, produced cracks pores, while ore presented a honeycomb morphology.

Microstructure evolution during impact on granular matter.

We study the impact of an intruder on a dense granular material. The process of impact and interaction between the intruder and the granular particles is modeled using discrete element simulations in two spatial dimensions. In the first part of the paper we discuss how the intruder's dynamics depends on (1) the intruder's properties, including its size, shape and composition, (2) the properties...

Ultrasonic characterization of microstructure evolution during processing

Ultrasonic characterization of microstructure evolution during processing" (2007). Many cold-working processes for polycrystalline metals cause alignment of the grains with a single symmetry axis. This type of microstructure is called fiber texture. The existence of a preferred orientation of the grains has a significant influence on the propagation and scattering of ultrasonic waves, which are...

Finite element simulation of microstructure evolution during friction stir welding of automotive aluminum parts

7000 series Aluminum alloys are widely used in the automotive industries for structural lightweight components due to their exceptional high strength to weight ratio. However, this class of aluminum alloy is difficult to join by conventional fusion welding techniques so Friction stir welding (FSW) widely is used for welding this alloys. The process has been demonstrated to be effective and is c...
